How I discovered Mijia
I work in IT, so I'm naturally curious about smart home tech, but I never wanted a complicated setup with ten different apps. I already had a Xiaomi phone, and while exploring the Xiaomi Home app I discovered the Mijia ecosystem. What caught my attention was simple: affordable devices that work together in one app.
The Mijia products I own
Mi Temperature and Humidity Monitor 2, in my bedroom.
Xiaomi Smart Temperature and Humidity Monitor 3 Mini, in the living room.
Two small screens, two rooms, one app. They're tiny and silent, and they turned my home into something I can actually measure.
My Mijia story: the Temperature & Humidity Monitor 2
I bought the Monitor 2 almost on a whim, thinking it was just a cute little display. Last winter I kept waking up with condensation on the bedroom window and a slightly stuffy feeling in the room. The sensor confirmed it: humidity regularly climbed above 70% during the night.
The history graph in the Xiaomi Home app showed me the pattern clearly. It peaked every night and stayed high in the morning if I didn't open the window. So I started ventilating for ten minutes every morning and leaving the door open at night. Within a couple of weeks the graph settled around 55–60%, the condensation was gone and the room simply felt fresher.
It worked so well that I added the 3 Mini to the living room to compare both spaces. Seeing the two graphs side by side in the app is exactly the kind of detail I love as someone who works in IT: measure first, then fix.
Why I'd love to test the Tri-Drum Washer Dryer Pro
Laundry is one of those chores where smart features really matter. Separate drums for different loads and automatic detergent dosing follow the same idea my sensors taught me: less guessing, better results. I'd test it honestly in everyday use and share what works and what doesn't.
