Today I finally managed to use my Xiaomi Ultra by Leica with Hyper OS 3.0.312.0WPACNXM. C11 Android auto. It works fine, it was a bit of a tedious process but the bootloader didn't need to be unlocked.

Yesterday my phone updated to hyper OS 4, unfortunately a lot is new and android auto doesn‘t work anymore, I‘m in the process of reading the new kernel and so on and restarting it. Takes a few more days

Can you share the process? I‘m on HyperOS 4 on the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. I assumed the issue is that Android Auto cant be installed on the system directories.
