Dear Xiaomi Fans,
According to a report by tech media Neowin today, YouTube is testing hiding the "dislike" button for long videos, sparking strong dissatisfaction among users.
According to the original report, Google first hid the number of dislikes on YouTube in 2021, only displaying the number of likes. This move naturally drew criticism from many users, but Google has not retracted the decision to this day, and is now even testing completely hiding the dislike button.
Screenshots provided by users show that the "like" button on their video pages is no longer next to the "dislike" button. Users now have to find the "More" button in the bottom right corner of the screen to click "dislike ."
Some argue that YouTube's approach deprives users of a way to express their dissatisfaction with videos . Another blogger stated that he has always relied on dislikes to understand which videos viewers dislike, even though this data is no longer publicly available. Other users say that clicking the dislike button is particularly useful when searching for tutorials. By observing other users' reactions, they can quickly determine whether a video is worth watching.
However, not all users saw this change, suggesting that Google is likely conducting a small-scale test.
